Cube Craft Character This is a simple project to get you started for the year. I am providing you with a template of a little 3-D cartoon character in which you will bring to life by designing, coloring, cutting it out, folding it properly, and constructing it. For this project I want you to come up with your OWN design, try not to re-create a comic character you have seen before or are familiar with. You are welcome to make a mini self portrait of yourself or someone you know personally with this project. This is our first week of class and our first project so don’t worry about how well your art skills are at this point. There should be no anxiety about making art at this point as for this is a level 1 class where you will learn everything you need to know about making art for this class. Some students may be more skilled than you in this project and that is OK! You will find that you are more skilled than others in projects to come! Objective : to successfully create a character with your own creative design, color and embellish, cut out and construct. Questions: 1. What is art? 2. Why am I taking an art class? 3. how do I create a character I have never seen? 4. What problems did I run into? How did I solve them?
