Intro to Water Color Medium Students will experiment to learn the interesting medium of water color. an introduction will be given, demonstration of how the medium works, and several different water color techniques will be practiced. Students will create a background strip in water color to be used later for a linoleum block printing assignment. For this assignment students will mock nature and its natural beauty by creating a exuberant colorful water color painting! Students will study images of nature then draw out a choice magnified selection. Students will learn the techniques of how to paint with tinted water using water color paints and brushes. as a helping aid, black glue will be used as a border to keep colors from blending. Ceramics - Clay - Crazy Masks
For this project you will get your hands dirty in your favorite project of the year, Mask Making with Clay! ( I guarantee it ) Bettge will show you step by step procedures to making a ceramic decorative mask out of clay. Once finished you will glaze it with a variety of different glazes and techniques and fire it in the kiln. Students will learn: 3-D techniques of creating cartoon like, mouth, noes, eyes, ears, and facial structure by following daily demonstrations given by instructor.
