Fourth 9 weeks Sculpture
3-D Portrait In this project students will create a life sized 3 dimensional portrait of their choice. Students will learn how to build an armature, attach clay, and sculpt the proper proportion of eyes, nose, mouth, ears, and facial / head structure. Students will learn how to remove the head from the armature and learn firing techniques with the kiln. Students will then have several options such as glaze or acrylic washes to finish the surface Questions:

Plaster Sculpture
For this assignment the student will create a sculpture using their hands, arms, feet, etc. literally! Students will work in a group and brainstorm an idea for a sculpture that is able to be created from castings of hands, feet, arms, faces, legs, etc. The students will then cast body parts to create an inventory for their sculpture. Finally students will arrange castings to create a sculpture and install them on a base or mounting.
